Daily Chat and Star Trek

The day started out with me calling for Adia’s rebate card that we were supposed to receive because we bought our new Samsung Galaxy phones at T-Mobile in March, and signed up for their rebate of $100 each. Unfortunately, we had to move apartment units, and I didn’t update our address with T-Mobile in time. So, they sent the cards to the wrong address. I changed my address online, but I guess it was too late. They had already sent the cards.
I decided to call up T-Mobile’s Customer Care, and they fixed the issue for me, and totally forgot about Adia. After reading some negative reviews online about T-Mobile rebates from a few years ago, I lost all hope; Until my card came. It was received in about a week, even though they said it was going to take up to 15 days.
This morning, I called for Adia’s card, and they were nice and polite enough to help us out with cancelling the old card, and getting her a new one issued.
I never understand when people are so negative about customer care. I can only assume that the people that are complaining usually yell, scream, shout, and take their anger out on the poor CSR. It’s not their fault. They just work there; probably for $8 an hour.
I believe in the saying that you can catch more flies with honey than with crap. I’m always nice to them, and try to keep my calm, because you can get a lot more out of the CSR, and sometimes, even favors, like them helping you out with things.
In the end, I was really happy about how they treated me, and we got things done, together.
So, I was chatting up one of my friends, Jacqie (photo on the left), who has considered this blog witty, and real. I thought it would be boring. Who wants to read about some dude’s life and the stuff he does. Here’s what she said.
I like how witty it is; and real. I hate seeing peoples’ blogs about the 800 pairs of shoes they have and then they’re off to an expensive restaurant every night, I can’t relate to that.
I’m hoping that by doing this, other people can make me feel sane by saying that they go through the same things in life.
I had an easy day at work. Busy, but easy. Solved a bug, and working on something cool in WordPress. A new custom plugin.
Then, I came home, and since , had tortilla chips and salsa, watches some Star Trek TNG, played with Ethan, and now, awaiting dinner.
I think later, I will work on my two patent ideas I’ve had for a while.
After working on the patent ideas, I realized it’s 1AM. Hey, sometimes, the only time I have to myself is after Ethan goes to bed. it’s ok though, 6 hours of sleep is ok. Adia doesn’t know that tomorrow is only half day at work, and I’m going to surprise her when I come home for lunch. I might buy her some flowers, just for the heck of it.
